2020 has started great for Pianca, in the sign of success and satisfaction. During the Good Design Award cerimony of December 2019, the prestigious award went to the Baio table collection, which stood out in the category “furniture 2019” for its innovative design. 7 decades has passed since the first edition of the Good Design Award and it doesn’t seem to be losing its shine, because it is presently the oldest and most important international design recognition. Only products, that boast new standards in the global market, can obtain the award, thanks to their contemporary and innovative design, from which the whole design industry will take inspiration.
For Pianca this is the third award received by the Chicago Athenaeum, in cooperation with the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies, and it represents a relevant certificate.
Result of the collaboration with the Calvi Brambilla studio, the Baio table collection is characterized by a refined and discreet balance of the composition. The designers’ idea began to form during a journey in Iceland, where a group of elegant horses, different in colours, impressed them. In fact, the Baio tables stand out for the presence of “hoofs”, that envelop the table feet. This furniture detail, available in gold, bronze, titanium, copper and chrome metallic finishes, enhance the longilineal and tapered volumes. This collection so varied in shapes and colours was born with the purpose of offering a wide collection, to create varied and dynamic compositions through the different combinations of the tables.
This is how different models and material combinations create a plurality that well interpret the inspiring image of the project.
