  • Cleaning fabrics, real and faux leather/hides.

    TESSUTI
Coffee: remove stains by washing repeatedly with warm or sparkling water mixed with a small amount of neutral detergent.
Chocolate, fruit ice cream, cosmetics, lipstick: dab with water mixed with ammonia. Wash any remaining marks with water and neutral detergent.
Felt tip pen, biro: dab with pure denatured alcohol, then wash with water and neutral detergent.
Drinks: dab with water and ammonia (one part ammonia to eight parts water); rinse with water and neutral detergent.
Chewing gum: harden the gum with ice and remove the bits; apply a lubricating solution and dry. Repeat if necessary.
Candle wax: blot with absorbent paper and a hot iron (no steam); apply a dry cleaner. Wash delicately with water and neutral detergent if any marks are left.

    LEATHERS
Exercise maximum care with leather and hide covers because stain removal is very difficult. For routine cleaning of hides and leathers, dust with a soft cloth and, if necessary, wipe with a cotton cloth moistened with water and skimmed milk.
For normal cleaning, use a special leather cloth wrapped around a soft, dry sponge. Smooth the leather in all directions and remove surface dirt. Slick, shiny patches will disappear.
Do not use abrasive or aggressive products like solvents and stain removers. Never use steam and shoe cleaning products. Always test a cleaning product on a small concealed area to check effectiveness and to avoid damage.

    SYNTHETIC LEATHERS
Light stains: wipe the surface with a damp cloth or a solution of neutral detergent, rinsing with water, without wringing.
Localized, heavy stains (oil, grease, cosmetics, ink, coffee, liquor, chewing gum): dissolve the stain quickly with ethyl alcohol diluted in a 20% solution with water. Blot dry and then clean with a neutral detergent solution. Rinse well.

    LEATHER SURFACE
Use a soft felt or wool cloth. Add leather wax only if necessary. Remove stains as quickly as possible with an absorbent cloth. Do not wipe. Dab from the outside edges inwards.
Avoid using aggressive (solvents) or abrasive products. Do not steam clean. Do not use shoe cleaning products.
Alternatively, use the fabric and leather cleaning kits.

  • Product warranty.

The Pianca legal product warranty is valid for 24 months from delivery of goods, according to current applicable law. The dealer is responsible for any non-conformity defect at delivery of goods, therefore the consumer must always in all cases contact the dealer, the only subject with whom they have established a contractual relationship (Articles 128 and subsequent of the Italian Consumer Code).
The store will contact Pianca to find the best solution.

To request substitution or repair of a product under warranty, as prescribed by law, the customer must notify the dealer from whom the product was purchased, presenting the following documents:
    – Purchase details (order confirmation, copy of invoice, till receipt, etc)
    – A clear description of the problem,
    – Photos documenting product conditions.

This warranty does not apply to products that have not been kept correctly or that have been assembled by unqualified personnel, used inappropriately, tampered with, altered or cleaned using unsuitable procedures or products. The warranty does not cover ordinary wear and tear, slashes or scratches, or damage from impact or accidents. The warranty does not apply if the products have been placed in outdoor or damp environments or exposed to direct sunlight for long periods of time. The warranty does not cover indirect or incidental damage. The warranty excludes non-conformity of goods if the buyer was aware of the defect at the moment of purchase or if they could not ignore the defect with the use of normal diligence or if the non-conformity derives from instructions or materials provided by the consumer. Natural variation of wood types, altered shade of colour caused by ambient or artificial light, minimal changes in size due to unusual humidity or dryness, veining, knotting and other natural features of products like wood and marble. Leather and hide: natural marking, wrinkles, variation in shine and shade, spotting and general imperfections, folds caused by normal relaxation during use are not considered to be defects but are features of a natural product and its authenticity. In fabrics, leathers and hides, each production batch may differ slightly in shade compared to the samples and other pieces produced at a different time. In all other cases not mentioned here, Pianca reserves the right to assess each case individually.

  • Cleaning materials.

    WOOD OR WOOD VENEER SURFACES
Clean with neutral detergent. Do not use products containing acetone, solvents, ammonia, abrasive detergents or furniture wax. Please note that the wood surface is treated to repel moderate amounts of grease and dirt. Paints and varnishes used are also water repellent and anti-yellowing, although it is still essential to prevent scoring or exposure to high temperatures.

    LACQUERED SURFACES
Only clean with a damp cloth and neutral detergent. Dry immediately with a soft cloth. Do not use products containing acetone, solvents, ammonia, abrasive detergents or furniture wax.

    TEXTURED SURFACES
Only clean with a damp cloth and neutral detergent. Dry immediately with a soft cloth. Do not use products containing acetone, solvents, ammonia, abrasive detergents or furniture wax.

    GLASS
We recommend using white vinegar diluted with plenty of water or glass cleaner.

    METAL
Daily maintenance: to remove dust: simply clean parts delicately with a clean, dry flannel cloth. We do not recommend using a duster because it can scratch the surface.

    MARBLE
Routine cleaning: we recommend wiping the surface with water and neutral detergent or alcohol. Avoid aggressive detergents with very low or very high pH.
Every top is treated with water repellent silicon waxes that lose their effectiveness over time. We recommend repeating treatment with commercially available marble wax for home use.
Avoid exposing the surface to chemical substances, paint thinner, nail polish remover, ammonia or detergents containing ammonia, bluing liquids, permanent marker or ink, oily soaps, coffee, wine, oil, etc. These substances can corrode the surface and penetrate the pores forming dull marks.
If these substances come into contact with the surface, wash them off immediately with plenty of water.
