Supporting Imago Mundi

Pianca is proud to sponsor the exhibition “Out of Place. Art and history from refuge camps all over the world”, promoted by the Imago Mundi Foundation. The aim of this initiative is to offer a space of artistic expression and storytelling, contributing to the promotion of a culture of dialogue, listening and shared memory

Pianca confirms its commitment to favouring cultural and social projects. On this occasion, the company shares and supports the efforts of the Imago Mundi foundation – promoter of the “Out of Place. Art and history from refugee camps all over the world” exhibition planned from 9th June to the 31st July 2025 in Padua, on the rooftop garden of Palazzo Moroni and in the ancient courtyard of the Bo university.

Portraits and stories from refugee camps

The exhibitions numbers 174 original artworks in a small format (10×12 cm) by 162 artists who live – or have lived – in 18 of the largest refugee camps in existence today.  These artists use their creativity to convey powerful lessons of determination and trust in the strong influence of art. Their works of art take us from Arghanistan to Palestine, from Myanmar to Sudan, from Kurdistan to Somalia, across camps located in Bangladesh, Kenya, Uganda, Giordania, and other places marked by armed conflicts, violence, environmental disasters and ethnic or religious persecutions.

Fragments of life and art

Inside the exhibition there will also be photos, videos, installations and multimedia documentation serving as prompts for deep reflection on the current global refugee crisis. As a whole, “Out of Place” is a project aiming at giving faces, stories and individual identities back to people often perceived as an indistinct mass, in a world that tends to neglect the experience of a refugee. After leaving Padua, the exhibition will pursue its international itinerary and will be presented to the European Parliamant in Brussels from 10th to 13th November 2025, taking these artistic testimonies to the heart of the European institutions.
