From 25th February to 30th April the Pianca & Partners showroom in Milan is hosting “La nuova stanza”, the personal show dedicated to Andrea Branzi, the Italian designer and architect who was part of the avant-garde Radical Architecture movement with the Archizoom Associati group.
The exhibition was organised in collaboration with Antonia Jannone: Disegni di Architettura, and displays a selection of the architect’s most recent works, including sculptures, sketches and writings.
Archetipi, Portali, Buratti, Marmi caldi, Lampade sorelle, Pinocchio, a world populated by objects, sculptures and sketches that draw on the concepts of simplicity and elegance. Simple, natural materials like iron, stone, marble, ceramic and fabric demonstrate the profound and discreet design style of one of the most important masters of Italian design.
The setting for this event is provided by the contract sector hub promoted by Pianca with 26 companies in the furniture and building supply chain.
“La nuova stanza is a happy room, full of life, where design is not the product of new technologies, but derives from a different energy, full of insights and surprises. It’s a room that creates a sense of serene happiness… The puppets, the music, the ceramics, the maquettes, the lamps and the Plexiglas pieces stand out as if they had just been reborn, like when we move into a new house…
In the harsh, walled part of Milan, between Porta Tenaglia and Via Legnano, the huge glass windows shine brightly as if a new music was bouncing from one note to the next…” Andrea Branzi
